If you take a look around, it won’t take you long to realise that I’ve stopped posting here with any sort of regularity – much as I’d love to get back into blogging, I just don’t have the time any more and sometimes you need to prioritise certain things over others. However, I’m rather proud of some of the content I used to produce back in the day so I’m keeping all the content up. You can use this post as a navigation tool for some of the highlights that you might want to take a look at. Here you go!
Creative stuff I’ve been involved in:
Here, here, here, here…plus my Vimeo
Lighthearted posts on things I like:
Teenage nostalgia, five faves, Jay Z, The Gossip, Jim Jarmusch on originality, Lady Gaga
Essays:
When I was at university I made a point of only writing, if at all possible, about things I was really passionate about or interested in. I also had a nasty habit of only picking topics that very few people had written about at an academic level before, which made the research a total bitch in every case. Anyway, sometimes I read back over stuff I’ve written academically in the past and think, “holy crap, this is amazing, how on earth did I come up with this stuff?”, so I thought other people might want to read it too. Below are some links to essays of mine; I have recently abandoned my academic aspirations (I was planning a PhD proposal) in favour of pursuing a more production-focused career, but I still love thinking very deeply about things (I can’t consume any media without a freight train of analysis going through my brain)…
Feminist Fandom: Exploring the precarious relationship between third-wave feminism and television (my undergraduate dissertation)
Part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6

Why we should hang onto the word “feminism”
Manifestoes of faith:
Take a look around and it should be fairly apparent that I’m a Jesus freak of fairly epic proportions, but also that I am fairly resistant to a lot of what passes for Christianity in popular consciousness. The following posts are essential reading to get a better idea of what I’m all about:
Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears
